We have some exciting news to share with you about an upcoming dental varnishing event at Provo Peaks Elementary. This event is all about keeping our students’ teeth healthy, and we want to make sure you have all the information you need.
Date: November 8, 2023
So, what is dental varnishing?
It’s a simple and effective way to protect your child’s teeth from getting cavities. We believe that taking care of our teeth is really important for our overall health, and this event gives your child an extra layer of protection.
Why is fluoride important?
Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps make our teeth stronger. It makes the outer layer of our teeth more resistant to damage from acid and sugary foods. By applying a special fluoride varnish to your child’s teeth, we can help prevent cavities and keep their smiles healthy for a long time.
Don’t worry, fluoride varnish is safe and approved by dental professionals. It’s a quick and painless procedure. We’ll simply paint the varnish onto the surfaces of your child’s teeth. It dries quickly, so your child can eat and drink right after.
To make sure your child can take part in this beneficial event, we ask for your consent. Please fill out the consent form that was sent home. You may also access the attachment and return it to your student’s teacher by November 8, 2023. If you have more than one child attending our school, please fill out a consent form for each of them.
If you have any questions or concerns about the dental varnishing event or fluoride, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our school nurse. We’re here to help and answer any questions you might have.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students healthy. Together, we can create a community that values and prioritizes good oral health practices.
