Title I Preschool
The Title I Pre-School is a program to help children get ready for Kindergarten. Since space is limited, children are considered for the program if they meet the following requirements:
The child must live within the boundaries of one of the Title I schools. This cannot be a grandparents’ or babysitter’s address, etc. It must be your home address. If you move out of Title I school’s boundaries during the school year, your child can no longer attend the program. The child will be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year for which you are applying. The child is completely potty trained. If, within one week of placement, the staff discovers that the child is in dippers or has frequent accidents, he/she will be immediately removed from the program.
Photocopies of the following documents must be presented at screening: the child’s birth certificate, immunization record (all immunizations must be up to date), and a bill or rental agreement to confirm you home address.
Appointments for screening tests will be done in the Spring for those who meet the requirements. A committee will meet to review the completed packets and screening results to determine placement in the program. You will be notified whether or not your child was chosen to attend preschool.
