Provo Peaks Elementary School

Today, we are spotlighting our Adaptive PE teacher, Mrs. Rasmussen. She is an excellent addition to our faculty and we are so happy to have her.

Prior to her current assignment, Mrs. Rasmussen spent 2 years as a para-educator, and 10 years teaching Special Education in a Special Class setting.

She received her undergraduate degree in Special Education (severe emphasis) at BYU with a minor in teaching students of other languages, and a Masters Degree in Adapted Physical Education at the University of Utah.

Mrs. Rasmussen believes that learning should be fun and celebrated and that it is up to us as teachers to help students find joy in learning.

Mrs. Rasmussen did gymnastics for BYU until she found teaching. Teaching quickly became her new passion, but teaching adapted PE this year has been a perfect way to combine her love for teaching with her love for physical activity!

She and her family live in Spanish Fork, however, both of her children attend Provo Peaks and they are all proud to be Pumas! Her family loves the outdoors, and SPORTS. She LOVES glitter and her favorite foods are french fries and ice cream!
